COAST

COAST is a modelling framework for coastal and regional systems, flexibly integrating numerical models for the key earth system compartments. Additionally, it allows to include observations into the modelling system. The framework thereby allows models for ocean, land, atmosphere, and biosphere to directly and interactively communicate simulated states, which otherwise would require approximation during runtime.
In addition, it encompasses components for modelling higher trophic ecosystem components such as fish, marine mammals and seabirds. The COAST domain covers the North Atlantic Shelf region including the North and Baltic Seas.
